On 22 November 2023, SEARICE was honored as one of the Organic Agriculture Achievers of Cotabato Province for its contribution to the development of a provincial resolution containing warnings against the potential genetic contamination of traditional rice varieties by Golden Rice, a genetically modified organism (GMO).
Cotabato Governor Emmylou "Lala" Taliño-Mendoza conferred the certificate of recognition to SEARICE.
The resolution was drafted by the provincial organic council and will be passed by the Sanguniang Panlalawigan (provincial council) of Cotabato Province.
